August 21 2018 is the day of celebrating
Islamic holidays. Eid al-Adha is a day that commemorates the sacrifice. There
is a different day of celebration between the Philippines and Indonesia because
Indonesia celebrates on August 22 2018, so here one day is faster. For me and
my friends as Muslims surely this celebration is very important.
The day before Eid al-Adha arrived, we had
thought about what we should do tomorrow? We really want to join Eid al-Adha
prayer, where can we do that? Because here with the majority non-Muslim
community. We also began to busy contacting our mentors from UST. Initially it
came to pass that we would perform Eid al-Adha prayers in Quiapo with transportation
from the Campus. We also prepare luggage for tomorrow, but Arriving at 10 pm we
again receive a message that the campus cannot take us to Quiapo because the
place is too dangerous and many people with weapons.
At that time, we felt a sad feeling again,
worried about this important celebration we could not follow. So we kept
contact with hoping that there was another way. Yes that time we gave the idea
to go to green hills. But for a long time we waited for a reply until it felt
really sleepy. Well, we've been hopeless, because that night there was
absolutely no certainty. The next morning Tri opened her cellphone because she
contacted. It turns out that in Greenhills there was no celebration whatsoever
and the campus did not recommend anywhere. So we had to accept this important
day with the last one in the dormitory all day along.
