In accordance with this program schedule August 11 2018 we have done a
city tour that was a visited to
Intramuros and Rizal park; National Museum and Museum of Natural History.
Actually that day we were told to leave early in the morning. However, because
there was a slight problem because it was raining that morning and we also did
not have an umbrella so we were forced to wait for the rain to subside. But it
was less fortunate that the rain instead of subsiding, it actually got worse, I
don't want it, we had to get a little wet, hahaha ... our fate was so bad that
we had to do a city tour with unfavorable weather conditions.
At 8 am we arrived in front of Educ
building, it turned out that there were already many people waiting for them
including our tour guide. He is very friendly but I forgot his name hehehe. We
travel by car provided from campus. We get bread and mineral water because we
actually haven't had breakfast yet. It's by the way I can't bear with the name
of the traffic jam, so I anticipate it just before I get motion sickness I
better take medicine so that I'm not wamble, that automatically will make me
sleep all the way. Uh, it's already arrived at Rizal Park.
The park with the José Rizal monument
standing while holding a hat is a memorial monument to the hero for the people
of Manila. José Rizal was executed by the Spanish invaders in that place. The
area of this open park reaches 60 hectares which consists of a stretch of Pennisetum purpureum around the monument, then there is an ornamental
garden, a paved road and there is also a forested area, a kind of artificial
forest in the middle of the city. Near the Monument, there is a 46 meter high
flagpole and is guarded by guards in a complete regalia, which contains the
remains of a hero and stands as a symbol of Filipino nationality.
From Rizal monument we continue to
Intramuros. Intramuros means "inside the wall". The oldest settlement
in Manila is also known as Walled City. Intramuros used to be an iconic
environment that depicts Manila. The Spanish administrative administration
center was formerly placed here. But after the war and revolution made the
environment of this building damaged and abandoned. The Manila government
maintains Intramuros as a historical heritage site to be remembered and
exhibited to tourists who visit here. We also did not forget to take pictures
at fort santiago. Anyway, besides that, we also visited a shop that sells
souvenirs or typical Filipino souvenirs there, selling various items such as
jewelry, photos and other unique items.
After getting tired of walking around we headed to the Mall to look for halal restaurants. Unfortunately when we arrived at the mall we found a halal restaurant but it was not good enough for this overseas child bag like us hehehe. As a result we decided to look for a more affordable food court. The absence of a halal label makes us more selective in choosing food, just be advised in a country with a majority of non-Muslims. We decided to try eating typical Philippine food, satay, which is fish soup, it feels like it is similar to Indonesian food. So my tongue can still enjoy it.
After eating, I was full, we headed to a shopping center. Approximately one hour is given for us to shop. I also bought some ingredients for cooking, I thought I had to save money because the price of food here was quite high. Simply buy rice and some vegetables and don't forget the spices to cook them. Before this trip was finished we also visited the National Museum there were lots of antique objects. We really enjoyed this tour even though it was raining all the time during the tour.
